You should check other brokers. I live in Canada and can only use UK brokers as due to stupid regulations here. Check out Australian or New Zealand regulated brokers. Binary options are way too risky for me as the trading times are too short but i am be wrong. Good luck.

I want to test a strategy out live with oil but I live in the USA. Fxcm does not offer it and the only way I can see a way to trade oil directly is through binary options. Futures requires a margin account. Etf's my only logical option.

trade futures its better and safer than forex

Why do you think price of oil is rising after failed DOHA talks? Is there systemic risk to U.S. banks solvency in play (we know that U.S. financial system is deeply exposed to fracking debt - QE4 here we come) so USD is losing against Oil? Iran sees oil output rising at least additional 2 million bpd, Saudis are saying they could pump 1 million bpd more if all talks fail, U.S. oil companies are just waiting for price to rise so they can start fracking pumps again. It doesn't make much sense. What do you think?

Thanks, that makes perfect sense. If rumor is true, hard landing of oil is just a matter of time. Short stops behind 43-44 may send price even higher, but it should come down soon.

What are the most important factors to look out for when it comes to volatility in oil market? Except all USD, CAD, JPY news release.
By volatility I mean the kind that moves the market for many pips in a matter of seconds.

The Energy Information Administration's (EIA) Crude Oil Inventories measures the weekly change in the number of barrels of commercial crude oil held by US firms. The level of inventories influences the price of petroleum products, which can have an impact on inflation.

If the increase in crude inventories is more than expected, it implies weaker demand and is bearish for crude prices. The same can be said if a decline in inventories is less than expected.
If the increase in crude is less than expected, it implies greater demand and is bullish for crude prices. The same can be said if a decline in inventories is more than expected.

The report said yes:
Oil prices tank as US crude stockpiles jump by 1.9 million barrels, fuel stocks also rise

  1. Industry group the American Petroleum Institute says U.S. crude inventories fell by 1.1 million barrels, ahead of official government figures.
  2. Oil prices are on pace for a second weekly decline following a two-day equity sell-off and as volatility returned to financial markets.
  3. Climbing U.S. production looms over the market as the U.S. Energy Information Administration forecasts American output to average 10.6 million barrels a day this year

=====================
ABOUT NYMEX CRUDE OIL FUTURES
The New York Mercantile Exchange's light, sweet crude oil futures contract is the world's most actively traded futures contract on a physical commodity. Because of its excellent liquidity and price transparency, the contract is used as a principal international pricing benchmark. The NYMEX also offers trading in heating oil futures and gasoline futures.
Crude oil futures and options provide individual investors with an easy and convenient way to participate in the world's most important commodity market. In addition, a broad cross-section of companies in the energy industry - from those involved in exploration and production to refiners - can use crude oil futures and options contracts to hedge their price risk. Light, sweet crude is preferred by refiners because of its low sulfur content and relatively high yields of gasoline, diesel fuel, heating oil, and jet fuel. Even companies that are substantial consumers of energy products can use crude oil futures to protect against adverse price fluctuations.
You can trade more than just NYMEX crude oil futures online with optionsXpress! We also offer E-mini crude oil futures, which are just 50% of the size of a standard futures contract. E-mini crude futures trade exclusively on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange's Globex platform nearly 24 hours per day.
