OK heres a bit info, started trading forex about two years ago, with intention as everyone here to make money while sitting at home and fast. And i can assure you none of these things happened or came close. In two years time i managed to blow about dozen accounts ranging from 100euro to 1000 recently, while stacking up about 3-4grand lose in two years time. Also dont get me wrong i had trades where i would double my account in days time,or even make thousand or so from few hundred euro, but eventually blowing it all up in one bad or several trades instead of taking the money and moving on.Also i never traded funds that i didnt have,so after blowing an account id always take a few weeks even months break until, save enough funds to start over, basically holiday money or instead of going out id stay in and use funds towards my next deposit, also im fairly young and living at home with a part time job so whats the problem you ask ?
firstly i always knew of the dangers that forex is a high risk market, but if you think to live of it or do it part time forget it,as eventually forex becomes your work no.1 it also dictates your moods and emotions,if Friday comes and your holding loosing positions believe me the weekend gonna be long and sorta emotionally painful to wait for next week hoping to survive, just to arrive at the point where after ,few weeks of trying to stay afloat you will be drowned and eventually get margin call, while two months later to see that same pair would made you a couple thousand in $$$ (irony)
So as not to be constantly looser i started learning the bits and pieces of the market, especially the psychology part of trading, managing risk, your emotions and other crap, like developing a strategy. But always ending up the same ,one wrong trade and account is nearly killed. So it comes back to basics wanting to make loads of money in short time will never work, and now as im coming to conclusion was it worth it,my answer is no as there are better ways to make money and create something usefull instead of staring blankly into the screen waiting for random numbers to bring you luck,Im not saying theres no winners in this business or people who manage to make living of it,but its the same as to be a pop star or a wall street shark who makes millions every day,its only one per million who survives in this business. Now every person is different but my advice is for newcomers think really hard:would you be fine losing your savings or money that could buy you a nice car or a house in 5 years time instead of getting nothing but sleepless nights and numbers that define what will you have next day in your bank account.Hope it turns some perspective for people who are thinking investing money into this.
