There's some interesting points here. I was curious about others opinions on this subject because I was just talking about starting a new thread. I don't post much and it's been quite a while since I've been active here. I do intend to begin a thread next week ( no promises, of course ) that spells out how I trade - what I trade - when I trade - my whole frigging system of what I look at when I trade - charts with live trade calls at the beginning of each trade - exit calls - thoughts and feelings about the trade at the beginning, during, and after the trade - pretty much everything there is to talk about what I do.
Why would I think about doing that?? I somewhere believe that it will force me to be specific about my trading plan - to explain my trading style and trading plan to others for feedback, and to explain it to myself as if I needed to hear it - to force myself to be (try to be) consistent in following my plan and taking each trade that fits, while trying extra hard to not go astray from my beliefs and decisions - and to allow input from other respected members on all things trading.
I would be forced to only allow higher impact members to post to that thread because I think I can anticipate all the basic questions that newer traders ask ( I believe that they mostly repeat all the basic questions that they have heard others ask, and want to sound smart or be part of the intelligent discussion ). I am definitely not going to entertain any Trollism or trash talk. The "How many Ferrari's do you own" can promptly join a fresh empty ignore list.
I will probably put it in the journal section.
