I'm trying to write an EA and would like the program to make a decision based on a MA. I want the MA indicator to ignore the current bar (which if forming) and only use data from the fully formed bars.
looking at the syntax:
<TABLE height="100%" cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%"><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top height="100%"><TABLE class=docvar cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 border=0><TBODY><TR vAlign=top><TD><NOBR>double iMA(</NOBR></TD><TD>string symbol, int timeframe, int period, int ma_shift, int ma_method, int applied_price, int shift)
</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>is " int shift" the part of this function I should be interested in? If I set " int shift" to -1 will the indicator now ignore the currently forming bar, or am I way off here?
thanks
</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
