Hi all,
I'm a newbie at forex trading and until last week I was solely trading while learning Technical Analysis. But last week's GBP/USD jump due CPI release and Greenspan's statement led me to focus on a mixed strategy (still under development) of Technical and Fundamental Analysis.
I wanted to know if I could find the effects of the releases of past economic data (about last 8 to 12 months). That is, how the markets reacted to the news within 5mins, 30min and 60 mins of the news release. Crudely put, a technical analysis of the effects of economic data.
I'm planning to do this as little project. At this point I still don't fully, understand the complexity of this project. Your suggestions would be invaluable. Plus I don’t have access to 5mins, 30 min and 60 mins charts for the whole of last year. Most of the data I found on the Internet were daily repositories. Commercial ones are too expensive, esp. since I've not gone into live trading.
If anyone has this historical data or has access to this please let me know.
Thanks,
-Nishanth
