DislikedChris would you, could you for once just admit that there is a huge problem with platform freezes resulting in execution times of 3, 5, 10 seconds or more at times, all day long I try to make a living at this and I place lots of orders and execution is fast then slow then medium then long. On top of all that, spreads in the last week have widened on all pairs so we are paying more and receiving less than ever, please don`t ignore this message as you have ignored my last 3 messagesIgnored
As everyone on here will acknowledge if there is a problem that we are aware of we will gladly admit it and then we will fix it.
I cannot admit to a problem, huge or otherwise, as there is no problem with freezes at our end. When I say that I mean on any of the trading servers and any of the data centres. Last week on two occasions on the same day our connection to our feed provider dropped out for around a minute, but since then has been fine. That would have obviously stopped prices coming through, but would have made no impact on executions.
Of course, I cannot say that no client will ever see their platform freeze, because that obviously happens for some people, but it can be a number of factors. If the platform freezes it can be the connection at your end. Even if the connection appears to be fine on everything else including other platforms, all it takes is one lost packet of data for you to see a freeze or delay. Unfortunately there is no way for you to go back and see if at any point you experienced a higher ping, or a failed hop, or a lost packet of data. I do not know where you are connecting from or what kind of connection and ISP you use and I can't really speculate on the problem you are seeing, however I will say that if the platform was freezing all the time we would have hundreds of people contacting us. We do not have that. Even if two or three people say they have freezing, again that doesn't mean we have an issue. I was reading a thread from another broker the other day talking about a similar problem where some clients were fine and others were not. If a server was to freeze, the situation would be exactly the same for everyone.
As for spreads increasing, we have not changed any of our markups over the last week, so any increase in the spreads you are receiving will be down to the spreads that the market are sending through. Obviously the last couple of weeks have been quite volatile so perhaps that is affecting what you are seeing.
