Opinions are like those other things that everyone has. This idea has been around longer than I have and it doesn't actually go anywhere. All this would really accomplish is pushing trading activity elsewhere like Dubai or somewhere else that does not impose the tax.
it seems I may need to eat my words. Look what our pathetic little tax and spend democrats in the US are up to again. I still don't think it will go anywhere, there is too much downside, but you never know with these clowns.

I love how, when the governing bodies of Main Street need cash they always turn to Wall Street with some unfair; unjust trading/taxation rule, when in fact the average politician's net worth is one million or greater in which they seem to be getting richer and richer every year.

I agree this is a horrendous tax. and even though it is brought up in the house, I feel comfortable if it were to even make it out of the house that it would not pass the senate. First we know all repbulicans would vote against it, plus I have written to many democratic senators and have recieved several responses from them opposing this tax, that is a great sign!
