I have a specific way I trade, but I enjoy evaluating other methods.
I'll comb FF a couple of times a day to see if there is anything new and interesting to look at.
Over time I've set a few rules for myself to quickly filter out worthless methods, so I won't spend any time looking at them.
Here are a few of the big ones.
1. Any mention of a moving average cross.
2. A chart that looks like a Christmas tree- loaded down with indicators.
3. The use of the Zig-Zag or Solar Wind or any other notorious repainters.
4. A system that starts with a set of rules and immediately violates them.
5. Systems that have the time screwed up from the beginning.
Example- a method for the London open that gives trading times inconsistent with the London open.
6. Long rambling posts that have to be combed over for any meat.
There is one gentleman who posts here who does this. He may be the world's best trader, but I'll never know because he posts in long winded riddles.
7. EA threads or decent system threads that degenerate into EA threads.
There is one great example of this on the board now.
Those are a few of mine.
Does anyone have others?
