Clocks go forward this weekend in the UK folks.

I don't know why the US & UK don't do it together in the same weekend, my charts change from +2GMT to +3GMT for about 3 weeks.

Might be ok for US traders as most charts are set to NY close. Annoying for the rest of us.

Mate, the worst is for the AUS traders.

First, we adjust to the US DST, then a few weeks after accommodate the UK DST then again after a week, change to the AUS DST.

What the whole world should do is revert back to standard time this Fall and stay there. DST screws with us because it messes with our natural biorhythms. "[s]leep experts say evidence strongly suggests that staying on standard time all year is healthier."

I blame all my bad trades on Daylight Savings Time. It is the only thing keeping me from becoming a million dollar trader!

But I thought AUS didn't do DST , so some states do & some don't ?

Problem is it messes up with your charts if you are trading around the market opens.

I know Japan got rid of DST a long time ago.

It is a true mess indeed.

In AUS, most of the states but three, do DST.

As of 2024, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia observe DST every year, while Queensland, the Northern Territory and Western Australia do not. This causes the mainland's three standard time zones to increase to five during the daylight-saving period.

What is the local time in sydney when the forex markets open ?
Is it 7 am - 5pm (10 hrs or 9 hrs ) ?

Well, till last week, it was 8 am (local time).
Whereas, ASX opens at 10 am (local time).

In between the above sets the market will run itself (always imo) between TWO targets.

Where are the two targets now (from the recent past) and where is the second target next ... is the traders challenge ... and again just as i see it
(its not everybody's cup 'o tea I do understand )


Anyway, the new Asia morning is over for me +10p (net not pips) and must do me now I think, regardless of where the market heads now.

Will be back again for Franky/London to see where the market has taken price tthen. And no fomo from me if it runs hard now either way, I'm done for the morning.

A trade can either be successful, a trade can be neutral (BE), or a trade can be a loss
That is up to EACH trader in the end imo, regardless of the set method or system/strategy (or discretion) they use.
By that I might say (and hopefully for the last time I imagine MANY will be thinking hahaa)
is … I PREFER to close at ‘lock trades’

A LOCK trade, by my definition, is NOT a trade that is a GUARANTEED success from the moment it is opened
By my def (only, I imagine) a lock trade is a trade that is closed a “little early” just before it reaches the designated/expected target as ...
IF ...
the trade is going to the expected target (read, IF)
then closing it a little early makes the trade an early LOCK in. Especially if price goes further to reach the expected target.
That is the only way how I can explain it I guess.

Now, TARGETS are not imho universal unchanging targets each time
(the market would never likely repeat precisely each & every time - think about it)


The job of the trader imho then is to independently assess (via probablities) where & what such targets MIGHT be
(should they even wish to “use” targets as part of their plays ---- cheers again george, TARGETS, TARGETS, TARGETS)

Then each trader (only) can decide whether it is prudent to even trade at this or any time
And will such trades work positively every time. Hahaaa, as if.

All I can really suggest to traders is to, always, trade SAFE - & then trade well (as it’s a minefield out there).

Well if OTHERS can show their charts & trades pls I can happily just sit back & watch and hopefully learn more from others. Up to you folks.


Anyway, my day is fully over now as my day’s expectation (+15p) has been achieved/exceeded.
Is there potentially MORE out there. Yes, of course, there’s always MORE. But also less lol.
(Or even loss of what has already been achieved).

Do you pay attention to Market Levels ?
Are you aware of the behaviour of Price at specific times of the day/session and at Market Levels ?

We made our own, out of scrap wood and Pram Wheels and nicking Dad's tools.

No Health & Safety, nothing a bit of dettol wouldn't cure, in case of accidents.
