Disliked{quote} Isn't such news bad for the host country's currency? I mean if there's a natural disaster etc....will that not weaken it? Just thinking out loud...... Are you in/around Florida bud?Ignored
But I was thinking more direct trading.. Like weather insurance, when you can buy insurance rather precise... for example in mm of rain dropped vs predicted...
etc.... I believe there are some weather betting websites... Haven't research in a while, but might check it again... Was thinking if anyone has any idea already...
It used to be like.. you pay 10% (of 1k USD for example so 100USD) and "bet" or insure.. that there will not be more than 2mm of rain... on the certain date in some city/... And if it does rain, you get paid 1k, if it doesn't, you lose the money... Something like that... But you had to be in the business that depended on weather.. so I dropped idea at the time, but I hope there were changes since... There are weather derivatives etc... but would much prefer more "spot" market thing instead of options.. Because it is a completely different "game".
Can you afford to take that chance?
