I've come to realize that there are massive numbers of ppl out there
who have downloaded MetaTrader and use the program for charting
and drawing lines and watch various indicators tick up and down,
but having little or no experience with C programing, they don't have
the first clue on how to go about writing EA's.
A relatively intensive search on MQL (3 or 4) turns up quite a bit of
knowledge that is still too distant for the non-programmer to absorb.
I'm afraid the truth is there's no shortcut to knowing what one needs
to know in order to progress to higher skill levels as a MT4 coder.
You just have to learn to crawl before you can drive a tractor.
Anyway, in addition to the learning modules produced by Codersguru
over at forex-tsd dot com (and even these can be too much for
someone just geting their feet wet with Ea coding) I have found,
or more like I stumbled across a 45 minute web tutorial from some
folks over at interbankfx.

Now, I don't trade with them, I don't have an account with them
and I have no profit in advertising them in any way. I don't really
even know if they're on the level. Can't say either way. Don't care.
Couldn't give a sh*t if I had to. No agenda here except trying to help.

For many here, it's so very basic and elementary that it will be of no help
since you already know how to code in MT4 and the simple MA Crossover
illustrated in the video is a losing system anyway, something like 90%
drawdown. It's a pathetic excuse for an EA and couldn't be traded in the
form it was presented without numerous adjustments to the code.
If someone out there finds this helpful then the purpose has been served.

If someone is mad that I'm posting a link, I am sorry, but, there was a time
when someone would tell me to visit something somewhere on the web
and I needed help with something and I was not adept enough to find it
if they didn't spell it out for me and explicitly state, "go here and find this".
I'm putting this here to help someone like me.
