Well though i never asked this as new thread, i remember, previously in some other topic thread, someone mentioned that to do do this, just crash MT4 externally and that's it.
Though i agree that's a way for automatic stopping an EA from taking new trades (Say after a set time or set profit or set loss..whatever), it is a crude way and already open orders (esp. which you do not want to close) may be in jeopardy, if they are still being managed like trailing etc, by the same EA or another trade management EA. Other things can also come as issues when while mt4 is shut down.
What i want to know is ..is there any other way out to stop EA from taking new trades (Time based setting or profit based)
I see that if you change properties of an EA by un-checking "Allow live trading" , the EA will get kinda shut any way. Can this be done automatically? from mt4 itself ? some hotkey (using a script)? some other EA ( this sounds weird ) or some other shortcut (we can use automated programs like "Auto Power on and Shutdown" for this).
(Barring screen clicker macros, i doubt their reliability)
Kindly post with your expertise...esp. the old ones helping out here.
