Hi all,
I understand that for backtesting purposes, MT4 downloads the history from MetaQuotes servers. My guess is that the data is stored on the servers in GMT time and when requested by the client terminal, it is converted to the broker's timezone.
My question is: Does anyone knows whether MT4 simply adds or subtracts the GMT offset to the stored timestamps or does it also accounts for daylight savings time as well?
For example: I am in New York, in EST (GMT -5). Is the difference between GMT and EST always -5 according to MT4 charts or is it -4 in winter and -5 in summer?
