The Current Ratio indicator is an intuitive trading tool that relays the current ratio of retail traders in a buy/sell position. It is built with algorithms that crawl on 10 different sources to track the current trading activities of retail traders in the market. The indicator’s algorithm screens only trade that are currently running (open positions), and it does that for 12 currency pairs. It doesn’t recognize closed trades.
So, in essence, the Current Ratio indicator would come in handy to help you avoid placing BUY/SELL trades in the same direction as the crowd (retail traders). With this, you can identify the major trend of the market and trade in line with it.
Features of the Current Ratio Indicator
The indicator’s features include the following:
Signal Lights – These lights come in three colors – green, red, and gray. They can be set based on your discretion. For instance, a value of 40% or less can be assigned to the GREEN signal, 60% or more to the RED signal, and a range from 40% to 60% to the GRAY (neutral market) signal.
The custom formula for Average Value (AVG) – This feature enables you to define the formula the indicator uses to calculate the average buy/sell ratio value.
Input format: OAN =2; MFB =2; IGG =2; BLU =1; SSL =1, where MFB is the three-character code of the source; the share of the source in the average value.
Minimizing – This feature enables the indicator to still display informative data while in a minimized mode.
Auto settings – This feature enables the indicator to automatically detect a time zone and also assign a suitable color that is in sync with your chart.
How To Trade With Current Ratio Indicator
The essence of this indicator is to help you identify the major direction of the trend and trade in that direction. The major trend is not determined by the retail traders but by big financial institutions. The signal lights are used for both BUY and SELL trade entries.
BUY Signal
Firstly, wait for the indicator to display more of the green signals, and should also be evenly distributed on the panel. This condition implies that most sources are on the BUY side of the market. With this, you may then open a BUY/LONG position.
SELL Signal
Firstly, wait for the indicator to display more of the red signals, and should also be evenly distributed on the panel. This condition implies that most sources are on the SELL side of the market. With this, you may then open a SELL/SHORT position.
