Application means that Ukraine might be able to become a full member in 20 years...if even that...so can we please focus on ending the war first?

What a total nonsense. Learn the world's history before posting such garbage.
Ukraine existed long before Russia was pronounced as a land. Kiev is around 650 years older than Moscow.
Check your facts before embarrassing yourself.

Check your IQ before embarassing yourself ...

Is Ukraine part of Russia?
Ukraine and Russia are two independent countries, which emerged with the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. But as a former Soviet republic, Ukraine has deep social, cultural, and economic ties with Russia.

Being a former soviet republic taken forcefully in the USSR under the WWII doesn't make Ukraine part of Russia. Your IQ must be below zero in order to insist that Ukraine is part of Russia. You don't even care to check the history fact - how can you judge the IQ of other people?!

Ukraine is not a part of Russia in any way. And having something common in their cultures is normal and common for all slavish countries in the region.

As I said, read history and care to check facts before posting again.

You can begin with this:

Capitals: Kyiv is one among the oldest cities in Europe and was founded in 482, while Moscow was founded in 1147 by Yuriy Dolgoruky, the son of Volodymyr Monomakh. So, Kyiv is older than Moscow by 665 years.
The history of Russia begins from the year 862 AD.

The territory of modern Ukraine has been inhabited since 32,000 BC.

Now everything is clear, that not the European Union or US concerned about Ukrainian membership is part of EU and NATO, but the State and People of Ukraine who wants to be part of the EU and NATO

That is correct. EU and NATO do not push anyone to apply for membership and become a member of these organizations. A membership of this institutions is something each individual independent country needs to decide and go for in a fair and democratic way.

You know what?

In hindsight you could have written the above statement but instead of Putin insert George Bush and swap Ukraine with Iraq...just saying that history looks different after a few years and lots of perspective

BTW Hesron I agree with your statements about Putin.

No need to swap anything.
Everything he wrote is true and undeniable fact and we all should agree with that in the name of freedom and democracy.

You can make your own statement about Bush and Iraq.

However, Saddam Hussein was a dictator. Zelinskij is not a dictator and is a legally and democratically elected president of Ukraine. Besides - Bush is not a dictator. Putin is.
So any attempt to compare those would be inappropriate.

Cheers

1. See my last sentence; I agree with Hesron

2. I apologize for not making my point clear. The people who get hurt in wars are mostly the innocent also known as collateral damage. The USA invaded a soverign country (of which I admit I supported at the time) and there were thousands of deaths that didn't have to happen. It is always the people with no power or influence that get hurt while those "leaders" never suffer.

I don't know the specifics of why this war started and frankly it doesn't matter (to me). I just want a resolution and from MY perspective:

A. Ukraine can't "win" a war with Russia due to inadequate soldiers and weapons
B. The longer this goes on the more people will die along with the destruction of towns and cities
C. The leader of Ukraine needs to do whatever it takes to please Putin to stop the war and stop the genocide
D. Once the fighting stops THEN evidence is presented in open court and Putin tried for these killings.

But hey what do I know I'm a Forex trader...
