Scalping 10 sec., 30 sec., M1
I wellcome you today to explore the scalping trading strategy and hope you find some useful information for yourself that will eventually improve your trading. Scalping involves risks as well as any other trading style. If you done correctly and holding trading positions for a very short period of time you'll collecting quick profits as they appear.
Indicators
At 10 sec. Time Frame: BB (14,2), EMA 9 or 10; - (CCI 14), (EMA 50, EMA 200), (ADX 14).
At M1: GannHiLo, BB (14,2), CCI (14), RSI (14); - (and BB 14,1).
Currency
EUR/USD (tightest spreads).
Note
Look at Pivot points (H1, H4, Daily) and Fibonacci, Support and Resistance Levels at higher timeframes, too (M30, H1, H4), Price Action.
Target
0.5 - 7 points.
Timeframe
10 sec., 30 sec., M1, M5
Entries
10 sec. Timeframe
Option 1:
Entries are made when candles are crossing the EMA 9 line (you can take as well as EMA 10) from below/on high and moves upwards/downwards or the middle line of BB at 10 sec. (upside or downside movement) and looking at M1 if it goes further in the right direction - if so then by holding further on the trade - so trading with two monitors might be an advantage.
or
Option 2:
Focussing at the EMA9-Line crossing over the middle band of BB.
M1 Timeframe
When the candle crosses GannHiLo (or closes at the counterpart side of it).
see further: p.13, #188
Profit taking
Exits can be at the first cross at
10 sec.: EMA9/50 or EMA9/middle-BB-line;
M1: candle/GannHiLo or at a peak of CCI or RSI, which one is higher (see trade examples).
Since EMAs (9, 50) should be running along side (up or down) let your trade run.
Stop Loss
Contrary to popular belief I'm not a friend of setting a Stop Loss. May be to set a stop loss perhaps 5 pips above the last candle or at the counterpart upper or lower Band of Bollinger Band. "Sim" has specified my intention at p. 15, #223: "It is illogical when you undestand price movement that when scalping you take every loss as it happens. Trading full time you would leave positions open until you KNOW you need to close them."
See further: p.16,#229
Marketmovements
Sideway channels at the 10 sec. chart involves that the winning pips are smaller compared to the markets' downside or upside movements at M1 or M5. BB lines are good barriers for the entries and exits. Take a look at the chart in a "sideway movement" at the upper- und under-BB-lines.
Practical Use
Scalping is possible in a sideway, up- or down-channel and take a look at both timeframes the 10 sec. and at once M1, to cope it. You can trade only 10 sec. without M1 or exclusive of M1 but to the best advantage it is monitoring the price action in multiple time frames (10 sec., 30 sec., M1, M5) - with having regard to M5 see the conception from "sirogreness", p. 17.
The 200 Period EMA gives more a global orientation where prices are going on just now. EMA 9 can pullback at the 10 sec. chart but if it crosses into the 50 Period EMA then the trend is weakening and may be about to break. Take a look at this time at M1.
Scalping with Bollinger Bands
See also the topic "Scalping with the help of Bollinger Band": Scalping 10 sec., 30 sec., M1 - Bollinger Band - Version 2010 March 06.pdf.
ADX, +DI, -DI
You can use the crossing of +DI and -DI to determine the trend direction; when +DI crosses -DI upward it’s a bullish signal. Conversely, when +DI crosses -DI downward it’s a bearish signal.
See also "Practical needs in scalping" p.2/3: Scalping 10 sec., 30 sec., M1 - ADX - Version 2010 March 07.pdf, (p.18,#267).
Multiple Time Frame Analysis (MTFA)
In scalping it makes sense as well to use three or more time frames when making trading decisions. This is because if your entry and exit orders are based only upon just one time frame by disregarding the wider trend so risk becomes higher for trading belike against the longer term trend. Multiple Time Frame Analysis (MTFA).pdf, p.23,#336.
