I basically entered those trades when the fxcm tr indicated that those currencies was gonna be short for long-term like on 4/9/06 using donchian channels they say. Even though I was like 18 days late I just felt like entering anyway w/ no stop-loss ...

If you want you could short the dollar now since the dollar is getting the crap beating out of it by the economic indicators even though they raised interest rate. But shorting the dollar now is probably late since the fomc raised the interest to 5% ...

You could try longer term trading. Like I mean wait until you have the opportunity to go into a new trend which may last for a month or longer that is if you're patient enough...

Well, I didn't think of it as a lottery. I just had a big stoploss and if it did hit my stoploss then it would be fine and when it didn't it was much better. I was just going with the trend of my strategy.

Before the news came out I already was up with the dollar and then when the news came out it spiked negative and then corrected itself by going to the positive for the dollar . Made some good pips and still going to that direction.

Maybe it's possible to do some news trading with this broker since there's no dealing desk which may not promise your order and etc. Am I correct?

slippage — On sidekick's post it sounds like fxcm wants to use the slippage on some traders who abuse the straddle technique even though they guaranteed "no slippage". Why would a broker do something like that? Make the trader lose more $$? ...
