EUR/CAD — This was part of a EUR/CAD forecast I published earlier today. It's a raw projection with its frequency decomposition, made just before April 13th. Its correlation to price action stands relatively high. Again, pay attention to the ...

Ah super, the number sounds about right.

Yes I further detrend intraday data, usually by oscillating it. Market regime...yes but I call the process quantitative dissecting as you literally pick market waves apart. Main focus on frequency domain, and time for correlation.
- mnikolic replied Apr 13, 2010
It can be used for both - provided you have enough data quantity and diversity. Markets are fractal as is their cyclical nature. But, from personal experience, I found most success with shorter term projections as they have a lower probability of ...

Speaking of numbers, it is your 1,000th post, markmm. Congrats.
- mnikolic replied Apr 13, 2010
No I did not. I find it unnecessary with wavelets. I do, however, use an auto-correlation function.
- mnikolic replied Apr 13, 2010
25k is the weighed price action sample considered for the projection. I'm mostly an intraday trader as intraday data is most detrended, and thus shows greatest cyclical tendency.

I already said it, so here it is again. It is a projection, not an exact route price is expected to take. A "ballpark" figure based on best inputs. I often trade a projection in segments. If price turns into it and a criteria are met, I initiate a ...
- mnikolic replied Apr 12, 2010
Yes I do. Mean price : projection correlation stands around 65.8% and mean probability at 72.7%. Sample: 25k.

So here we have another step in the whole process - qualification of a wavelet, distributed over time. Most correlated segments are harvested and used in projection. + = positive correlation - = inverse.
- mnikolic replied Apr 12, 2010
Yes, with a filter applied to it.
- mnikolic replied Apr 12, 2010
Yes, certain harmonics were removed due to low distribution.
- mnikolic replied Apr 12, 2010
It's a projection that is based on the most qualified set of probabilities. If i "knew" where the market would be exactly 4 days from now, yep you're right, my profit factor would be exponential. But I don't. It is a best estimate given the set of ...

EUR/USD, April 12-16 projection — Expecting a bit of ping-ponging between 1.36 and 1.34. The projection is pretty self-explanatory. Red is the composite and projected wave, with relevant frequency decomposition in the bottom. Blue are the ...

I'm not sure, I certainly do not hold one. Some clients may insist on accreditation, but it is really your portfolio that counts. Contrary to popular belief, qa is a very creative field.
