In my last trade, I let the bar-by-bar convince me to BE using my TP order. This was a bad move and went straight into the rules. I ended up being right and missed out on 43 pips. Pretty sure what I should have done was reduce risk by tightening my ...

As I understand it, it depends on the timeframe/size of move you are looking to trade. Longer timeframe, bigger moves, bigger tp, bigger sl, slower confirmation, more time for entry. Check Mr. Pip's 11/9 video. Lots of really good information in ...

I personally like the second image more anyways. i see two easy trades there. and a third riskier one. The first image makes me nervous. i'd probably watch price drop... just waiting for a reversal. if i had a big enough account, i'd maybe risk half ...

Mr. P, Amazing... I am inspired. Switched over to JPY from CAD since CAD has been difficult to trade lately. Went from 25% (12 trades) to 78% (9 trades) win ratio for the month. net profit at +40% on my tiny account (swinging 1 micro contract, which ...

Do you have a prescribed target for these types of trades? I usually go for the 50% or 61.8% retracement...

i don't think the feature is common. its hard to even find chatter about it.. its usefulness seems to be limited to reversals, and even then for the very specific cases where it fails... ie. when you misread the AOI and/or price simply doesn't ...

this seems to be a really unusual type of order. how do you set it up?

[quote=Coreg2004;10506665] i tried doing a second entry on a retest (I'm guessing this is what you're talking about for late entries). I tended to lose those trades. The feeling was too similar to doubling down on a losing trade.

[quote=Coreg2004;10506597] indeed. i'll take a gander at if i ever get there. pretty content with using some version of Mr. Pips method. Its reasonably simple and straightforward. the only thing i don't really do is enter on a rotation candle. I'm ...

[quote=Coreg2004;10506567] is that an elliot wave analysis?
- ckh626 replied Nov 17, 2017
Its hard to tell when price will decide to exceed 1:1 and hit some of the extended fibs. I will target a 1:2 for an entry, but usually let bigger 1:1 and structure dictate entry targets. I vastly prefer SOS3 entries at a 61.8% pullback with about ...

Had a pretty good week in JPY, not so much in CAD. CAD has been really hard to trade lately as its been in a complex correction for the last couple weeks. slow, lots of intermediate order flow change. CAD week was about BE, JPY is about +145 after ...

I guess I should follow up with some percentages. When on point, I'm probably doing about 60~70% with occasional rule breaking. When things are bad, I can hit 20% or worse. Obviously, it'd be nice to do 70+% with no rule breaking.

I am also trying to trade this way. I'm willing to take home a little less or trade a little less if I don't have to stay glued to the screen, making adjustments that seem to make my losses worse rather than better. I've found that trading less ...

Sorry Mr. P, I'm afraid the math doesn't really work that way. Anything less than 22 would yield less than 1 pip per day per your calculation (which isn't great). You'd have to go negative after commisions to get a negative daily average. Other than ...

glad you showed this peter. Inspires me to keep plugging away at what i'm doing too. had a BE month on my preferred contract, but I explored a couple other currencies. That was a bad idea. I should rejoin you guys on YM via sim. Saving up to be able ...

Yeah, I plan to build up very slowly with a backup plan for a 7~20% move, so that I don't get completely wiped out. Which means for 1 YM contract, i have some 7K~21K liquid capital floating around somewhere in the event I need to call the broker for ...

Damian, In you're experience, how do you think this method stacks up during a crash or bear market? maybe like 2008 or 2001 periods. its been a good week so far in micro-cad for me thanks to your work.
- ckh626 replied Oct 13, 2017
Thought I'd share this multi-day semi-graceful exit on micro-cad. Got in a bit early on the 61.8, though i was eyeing the 78.6 for a structure test and a cheaper trade. The bears were on fire (USD bulls), so I wanted to make sure I caught the trade, ...
