All I see is consolidation, and I must admit, I was hoping for a big retrace after that huge downward move. The EJ went from being the most exciting thing to trade, to the most booooooring thing to trade. Move already will you

Thanks again Steve. I take it back, that's not a fractal, it's just an Oanda order entry. He basically trades naked.
- Mets replied Aug 20, 2008
Ah lol, thanks. I don't use Oanda so I'm not familiar with their platform. Any chance you know what these lines are?

I don't think the Abandoned Baby has an IB inside. It does have a Doji candle though, which represents price indecision, and that has a similiar meaning to an IB, which is just price consolidation. Harami is essentially an IB with a direction. The ...

Hey, can anybody get this indicator to work? Mine doesn't show anything on the screen, it just has a little "trend status" box in the top left. Not sure what it's based on, but I see where he's going and I think it could be a nice asset for this ...

Thanks KGB, I appreciate it. I hope it's true, because that "forex charting" package my rep from MBT told me about was an absolute, absolute joke.

Heh, at least people are being honest in what they think
- Mets replied Aug 5, 2008
Absolutely, and that's why you don't look at just one. There's more to this, but I'll let the interested readers find it out themselves As you can see from the above, you can't just go by the EU. The technicals were pointing up back at the 9am ...
- Mets replied Aug 5, 2008
But it has that for reasons which you're omitting Go ahead, try to trade the EJ by watching the EU alone, I wish you the best.
- Mets replied Aug 5, 2008
Just because the dollar goes up doesn't mean the EJ will fall, there's no correlation. There is coronation when the USD and certain other currencies move, but you can't assume a connection between the USD and the EJ alone.

The 1H did show a reversal setup at 9am, but this could just be a quick retracement before we continue short. I think there is some basis to it though, as we're at the 100% fib retracement and bottom of the channel.
- Mets replied Aug 5, 2008
It's moving, but boy it's fighting tooth and nail. I'm not rulling a long reversal out yet, though I wish it'd fall into a bottomless pit.

The last candles I saw were a bearish hamari and a three inside down, and that was back up at 168.60. Thanks for the post nuck.

I tend to agree with you Tov, and I think this scenario fits 5ysfx's analysis from a few days ago, and corresponds with the hawkish comments from Japan and the overall weakening Euro. To preserve the downward channel we can't exceed about 169.25ish, ...
