I understand perfectly well, Josh. What you say is true. Not only do you risk blowing up your account using very high leverage if you experience a losing streak, but also due to circumstances beyond your control; like unexpected gaps or a system ...

Yeah; hindsight trades are the best. "I would have bought here, sold there, taken the money for a trip around the world...;" all that good stuff!

I agree with you 100% Josh. Controlling position size is crucial. I've never been a fan of using a huge amount of leverage even when scalping. I've dealt with many traders and never met one yet that uses more than a 25:1 leverage and succeeds in the ...

LT, wanting to lower your overall trading costs has nothing to do with being an "institutional scalper" or not. The fact remains that MBT's commissions are not in line with the industry. They are high as hell. When I say "industry" I'm referring to ...

No problem, Bruno. Anytime. Every scalper/trader that reaches a certain level of success needs to go the institutional route. Fast scalping has a lot of liquidity limitations. The "three-trillion-dollar-a-day market" BS that your hear unscrupulous ...

Yes; it's pretty good for manual scalpers. Most traders that I know who use it like it. We've also been using on and off with our traders for the last year or so. Their head guy is Dan Raykhman and he's very helpful.

No problem Surfer. The lowest account minimum that I'm aware of for a second tier prime broker that offers Currenex is $25,000. I know BGC in London has a $25,000 min. Capital Forex Pro has a $30,000 min and slightly higher commissions. I don't ...

MBT's High Commission Costs — FxSurfer, you are correct about the lofty levels of MBT's commission rates. If you are really going to do high volume scalping using the 5 sec or tick charts, you cannot IMHO do it with MBT. Their commissions are ...

scalp100, They gave me a view of the live system today. The prices looked pretty good and the liquidity decent. They claimed not to have a 'last look' feature like Currenex. They claimed to be an ECN.

scalp100, we're in a similar situation and considering the names you mentioned. You might also want to add Baxter FX to the list. Let me know if you find out something.

Erik, I'm interested in what you're trying to find out as well. We currently trade using Currenex, but don't like some of the platform's features and the "undisclosed" flexibility that some of the banks posting liquidity have. Let me know if you ...

IMO, SR is useless for retail. It is only a viable solution if you want to trade on Currenex, but don't want to use the clunky Currenex Java console.

risktaker989, i'm now using Strategy Runner (SR) on ODL's Currenex. I looked at the SR-MT4 bridge, but the guys at SR told us that it is too slow to scalp and introduces too much latency into the equation. It is fine for swing trading and strategies ...

Again, forget using retail brokers to trade the news. You have to go direct to the banks using something like Currenex or an ECN-type broker like EFX. Even when you do it that way, the news environment is much more difficult to trade because of the ...
