The only thing that would matter is that mbt provides other means of trading than metatrader on the free exn (preferably api). Metatrader is full of sh*t.

Im using dukas (api that is). But their spreads are a bit wide (EU typically 0.8 and GU >1.2). If I had the choice Id go with lmax proprietary api, their spreads are like half of that of dukascopy.

Indeed I was wrong. Referring to their api: 'the time in force policy for the market order. This can be "Fill or Kill" or "Immediate or Cancel".' So, yes it may be fok or ioc

Afaik on their free exn they do not allow trading by other means than by mt4, so there is no choice, is there? Why do they not change their policy?

Or possibly MC builds all higher timeframes from 1-minute bars uniformly, in which case the day timeframe would of course take the longest, since the most data has to be downloaded.

Theoretically tick and one minute and day timeframes should load fastest because these are the only resolutions lmax provides data with via their api. Everything in between day and minute has to be built up of 1-minute data. I.e. for 500 4h bars ...
