There will be plenty of back & fill on the small scale, you could see those 30 pips from here by the time NY opens up. I wouldn't be surprised to see a full-retracement back to the uptrend @ 122 the way this thing moves.

What's your average entry price and TP/timeframe? Another 50-pip swing or so? I stick to the dailies primarily, the 200-day SMA at 119.73 looks like a magnet to me..

The interbank desks are closed from Friday 5pm EST to Sunday 5pm EST. Brokers that offer weekend quotes/trading are just offering gimmicks really.

goodthings, Without having to check the ATR on each cross in MT4, is there any other source that shows a table of all currencies/cross-rates' daily and weekly ATRs?

Trader Tax, do you mean "turn in a log" only if you're audited? Or with every annual tax filing? I thought an FX trader simply needs to keep a personal log (showing 988 opt out), and files the net P/L on 6781. IRS law states the log must be filed?

If by "carry us away" you mean afford grammar lessons, then I'm all for USD/CAD selling, for the greater good.

Not exactly, the trendline today sits at 122.01. That particular line happened to be well observed and tested since March. But take it fwiw, trendlines are hardly of utmost importance.

I didn't see any news that could explain that quick 50-pip spike, anyone else? It's been very lucrative to short these USD/CAD spikes, I wonder if this is any different..

I prefer fundatechnical trades vs gut trades. My gut trades usually end up in the gutter. Though my gut was right on USD/CAD.. 1.0485, +45 since last post. Oh well

Good luck with the trade. FWIW, I'm surprised by the weakness in CAD and AUD today despite the dollar selling. They're both retreating off their highs. In fact, USD/CAD has already brushed off the subprime news without hitting a new low. If this is ...

Just like to throw my TA into the mix too, and suggest to any on the sidelines to hold off on USD/JPY longs until we see some stability. Right now, USD/JPY is positioned in a strong bearish stance. It's trading below the 50-day SMA, the March ...

Right, only a 50% correlation, the other 50% is the yen. I was just saying a correlation of yen crosses, and a relative value analysis of USD/JPY vs those other crosses, is aided by considering the factors affecting the USD side of the equation.

I would be hesitant to look for relative value or "reasonable"ness of USD/JPY vs the other yen crosses. USD/JPY is where it is comparatively because the USDX is at multi-decade lows in the midst of a heavy downtrend. All of the yen crosses will move ...

Yes, I saw it tested, broken, and a new low of 120.88 established. That invalidates his call, and I'm sure he'll have a new strategy posted on Monday.

I see you're quoting Jamie Saettele's exact figures. You should not blindly follow EWT/TA with no regard for underlying fundamentals. His recent long-dollar calls based upon EWT are now underwater after today's events.
