Thanks. Here is a direct comparison to yesterday's Dividend Adjustment on FTSE with some of my broker accounts. IG seems to be the most accurate to match what they published in advance with what actually happened. The all differ greatly. IC Markets ...

Thank you. Very good information. My IG Daily Chart also seems to go back to November 6, 1990. That probably won't be necessary. The last 10 years would be nice to know. I could imagine that a fixed stop in size of the dividend adjustment makes ...

Yeah right. I'm already testing this live. Currently at 2% risk per trade. 1% for the first buy position before the gap and an additional 1% for the 2nd. The size of the gap is used as a stop, and the gap is closed as the goal. Which then ...

Awesome. Thanks, I'll test that out. No idea about grid trading though. So the grid makes small, segmented trades instead of placing one larger order? Based on the last FTSE trade from yesterday, could you say which broker you are using and the ...

For semi-automated trading of the dividend trade you can also use the following MT4 EA. This means that orders can at least be set in advance based on time. I already tested it yesterday and it works well, provided you have a low latency. file

Might be useful for backtesting. I started to compiling the numbers for he ex-dividend figures published by IG. They start on June 11, 2018. So 5,9 years. I'll be happy to publish the Excel spreadsheet when I'm finished. Unfortunately, this is quite ...

Gap closed but forgot to set TP on the second long position and it now moved back south. It's striking how this large candle filled the gap at exactly 01:00 GMT+1. Is there anything special about that time? image

image Bought @ 8423.6. The recent low is 8413.1. Spread was 2 Points. So -12,5 Points temporary drawdown (so far). Going to place a stop at -20 Points again. Makes it a 1:1 RR with TP +20 at.

Maybe that explains why there was a much smaller gap with other brokers. I haven’t bought before 4:30 so i didn’t receive a dividend. You actually don’t get paid any dividend at all, it‘s just a cashflow adjustment to your P&L. It’s not like ...

Not true either. The only thing Billy did was show his cherry picked winners (like the whole forum here seems to be about) and when you asked him a serious question about how he managed his risk he became silent or insulted. Big ego, few facts. If ...

I will. But that doesn't make my statement any less wrong. Am I correct that the GAP with other brokers only occurs at the end of the day?

Why there is no gap in the index itself? My other broker told me they will debit/credit the P/L manually for the dividend but there is no gap in their price feed that you could trade. I also can’t see any gap with Oanda, FXCM and any other broker i ...

Maybe best to ask IC Markets. To find the sheet, type "Dividend Adjustment IC Markets" into your search engine. The data is published on their blog.

I no longer have an account with them, but as far as I can see, this gap doesn't exist in their price feeds. Maybe only with certain brokers like IG. I don't see any gap in the futures chart either. Edit: No gap in the underlying market itself. I ...

The trade is nothing more than exploiting the existing price gap after the dividend adjustment by buying at a discount and selling at a higher price. You make the profit from this difference. It's like any other buy order that you then close again. ...
