Its the same in europe, every broker has to state possible 'Conflicts of interest' and he has to provide a statement on his 'Best execution policy'.
It's official, brokers trade against you

Oanda's rolls are much better last time i checked. Also, if you plan on using sub-accounts much, Oanda has a web-interface, where you can create and move funds between sub-accounts instantly, while et efx you have to use their customer support. But ...

You can have 'sub-account' at mb/efx, one for each strategy. You would have to use 2 sub-accounts at Oanda too, because they net long and short trades in the same account there just the same as efx.

Fills can and do get reversed on ECNs too. Bad ticks are just a reality of the markets, the only question is how the broker resolves problems associated with them.

Spot Next and O/N Libor curves are very volantile (especially since the credit crunch). Libor rates are a calculated mean of what the banks report to BBA (it is the rate at which they are able to borrow for interbank transactions for a given ...

You can get historical Libor rates from dataservices like eSignal, and adjust them for the interest rate spread. Or you could pull historical roll rates from Oandas web-query (would be easy if you know some scripting..).

That sounds very reasonable for charting purposes. I would suggest 1 minute bar data like 120 days (thats what eSignal provides - along with 10 days of bid/ask tick data) and daily data since platform inception. Daily isnt really a big deal ...

This manual is old. The 10 pip restriction for stops was removed quite some time ago. I never had a problem moving a stop with them.

Hotspot USA branch is cheaper with $30/mio. units flat, Hotspot Europe is not cheaper with $30/mio USD traded. P.S. the downside with the US branch is that they offer USD accounts only

Yes, they are very simmilar, i have both on eSignal, it should be fine to use this instead. You could use Ninjatrader sim account and connect it to efx/mb for free charting, however if you need chart history you will need an eSignal subscription ...

I use eSignal, but its not for free. They carry the Hotspot retail and institutional datafeed. Other options would be CQG, Tenfore, RealTick or TT XStudy, but they are way more expensive. The new european platform has some limited charting ...

Execution is very fast. I thought the quotes are a bit tighter on the demo than on the live server tho. Usd/jpy and Eur/Usd are about the same, but for pairs with a bit wider spread its different. Especially Gbp/Jpy seems to be often 0.5 - 2 pips on ...

I never tried it, because its extremly risky. You cant use limit orders because of the chance that only one side fills, leaving you with an open position during a high volatility period. If you use market-orders, you can get slippage way beyond 15 ...

There used to be 40-60 mio. in eur/usd in the book, and today its only 20-25? There used to be way more quotes per minute than today? Only (nearly) full pip quotes? Since L.P. are making the prices, it has something to do with them. But then again, ...
