Yes. But as Shilva elaborated the bid/ask will widen and your profits will be less than if you close on Friday. If your trading system occasionally holds weekend positions it is better to suffer a 30pip spread to close a position than a 200 pip gap ...

Wow. Where did that come from? My clarification wasn't directed to you but to a subsequent "tongue in cheek" post about a weekend trading system.

I never implied that it was a good idea to trade the weekends. My message was that the ability to close a position over the weekend to avoid a news driven Sunday gap against the position was valuable.

Yes. But I don't initiate new positions. The spread is too high on weekends. About 20-30 pips. I will close a profitable position if a major news event on the weekend may affect my position. Helps to avoid gaps against me.

I like Oanda because their platform never closes. I can hold weekend positions and close them if I feel news releases may gap against me.

Spieler, It looks like you only take long trades when you have an open long that is in drawdown. Do you ever have both long and shorts at the same time. Or does that defeat the purpose, kind of like hedging the hedge. Thanks, Bob

Thanks Flamenco. Sometimes the simplest solution is right under our nose. We just automatically look for something more complicated. There's a reason they call it Windows. Thanks again, Bob By the way, I feel like your sig line right now.

Ronald, What would be great is to have the CCI 8 that Paulus uses modified so that the 15m can be displayed in the 5m chart with the same +blue,-red look. That way we can have just have one chart open with the two CCI's stacked. Thanks, Bob
