I'm guessing the address move would only occur when a transaction is made though right? Otherwise that'd be a lot of transactions added to the blockchain in a short period, unless this is done in some other fancy way?

It comes down to user error, not some bug in LN or anything. However it brings into question how user-friendly the LN is (or not in this case) and how easily money can go *poof*. Hopefully this will lead to improvements
