There are some threads going here about volume indicators, Just never really looked into how the volumes are estimated, it is not like you can get the info freely. I can't really give you an indepth answer as I never properly reasearched it.

You can't as there is no exchange. You can get futures volumes. There are some decent indicators out there that get close.

Volume on MT4 and forex in general is useless, no centralised exchange, just shows you the artificial volume of your broker. There is a pretty good thread running on the trading discussion board about VSA
