When comparing the two platforms, it might be better to use the "tradeview window" from FXi. Just setup amounts of 1,5,10,15 and 20 millions. The tradeview-spreads do incorporate hidden iceberg-orders that are not visible in the ecn-vew window.

EUR@A0-FX is the "composite" Eur/Usd datafeed - means all institutions that are sending quotes to eSignal are in there. Its pretty useless for intraday charts, use a contributor specific symbol instead. For example, EUR@TDFX A0-FX is only the MB ...

No gripes, it works very reliably. You should know tho that live spreads are bit worse than demo spreads, and that its definitely not suitable for news-spike trading. Spreads are sometimes 50 pips+ wide for a split-second during figures. Also, its a ...

Quotes/Executions are the same between the two platforms. Why they are developing 2 different platforms i don't know. I choose the euro division, because their software supports default stoploss and target orders for every trade - with the american ...

In the age of IT, ticket-size doesn't really matter anymore. 10 years ago that was probably different. Nowadays processing a few 100k tickets per day isn't really a problem. If you trade through IB, they show the usual investment banks as ...

If you read their account opening documents, its $4 per $100k - which translates to 0.8 pip per round-turn for usd based pairs like usd/jpy. For gbp/usd its 1.6 pips (1.99*4*2). Min. deposit is $5000. They don't say anything about minis and micros..

MB Trading Futures - Introduction

No, it means if you get an execution that is more than 3% away from the current market price at that time, due to an error, the trade will be busted. Every ECN broker has a policy about clearly erroneous fills.

Yes, true. So $1200 margin would more like 1:150 leverage (1 contract has a face value of $ ~180K ).
Broker for trading fx futures?
- shrike replied Jul 31, 2008
There are two kind of margins in future trading: intraday margins and overnight margins. Overnight margin requirements are set by the exchange, while intraday margins can be set by the broker. For example if you trade 1 EuroFX contract, and your ...

I agree, its very reliable and execution is nearly instant. I never had a disconnect once. On the bad side, factoring in spreads and commissions, Oanda is still a bit cheaper. On the other hand i had problems with oanda with disconnections and ...

Be it Broker, IB or software provider, they all have a 'cover your arse' policy in their agreements which puts the entire risk of IT failure of any kind on the trader.

Look at the account documents, you send the monies directly to Hotspot (just like ATC Brokers), its not a scam. How reliable their solution will be remains to be seen, of course..

MB Trading Futures - Introduction

Yes, they are different. Demo spreads are a bit better than live. On live eur/usd and usd/jpy is most of the time 1, gbp/usd 2, usd/chf and eur/jpy 1.5-2, gbp/jpy 4-5. Live is clearly not as good as the demo when compared side by side.

Agree,if you only trade EUR, the CME is a really good place to trade. And you can get professional order-entry software like XTrader (not at IB tho), which certainly doesn't hurt for a scalper. You can get 1:100 at Hotspot retail too upon request, ...
