LTCM's bailout came long before rates were lowered to 1 percent. Roughly 4 years beforehand.

I agree whole heartedly on that, but nonetheless, interbank is open until 5PM. And if you think the last hour is quiet (and it usually is), check out 8/3/07. The yen crosses took a beating between 4-5pm on that dreadful Friday..

Where's the love for USDJPY? Today is the first time in forever I've seen UJ outperform every other yen cross, hopefully the beginning of a new trend. Yes AJ is higher now, but earlier today UJ was cleaning house.
EUR/JPY Vs. GBP/JPY

Actually, I take that back. Jacking the spreads on all of the majors to 10 pips wide at 3:45 EST? Wow! Completely unacceptable.

Yes, Oanda's spread on EUR/USD is good. IB's spread is as low as 0.5 pip wide on that pair. I often put a limit to buy on the bid and wait for a seller to fill my order, thus effectively 0 spread + 0.2 commission. Just another side benefit of an ECN ...

Your math is off. $2 per $100k at IB = 0.2 pip in commissions. Which is cheaper, a 1 pip spread with 0.2 pip commission, or a 3 pip spread?

Prices are most definitely NOT the same between dealers, not even close. I will second the recommendation of InteractiveBrokers. There is simply no competition with them at the retail level.Help-I Need A New Broker

Well I had to go ahead and jinx it, but AU is still holding up better than any other currency against the dollar at the moment. Anyone know what's up with kiwi? Getting hammered, off 1.34%. First time in a quite a while I've seen NU and UJ diverge ...

EURAUD is picking up steam to the downside, while AUDCAD is doing nicely and AUDNZD is holding support at the 200-day for the 3rd session in a row. AU continues to be a safe play at 86-87 support. I think today's session will see further upward ...

Agreed, TL shattered, entered on the break around 8825. The FF cut being all but certain now, let's see if the Dow can break 350 today. AU just broke Monday's high, which ends the sequence of lower highs we have been seeing. Now if these levels can ...

Alas, I have not yet played it, but would like to, it looks pretty fun. Anyone following the descending triangle on the hourly? It's been hitting the downtrend line to the pip the last 3 tests. Pretty solid support at 8685 for the time being.
