Alorente replied Aug 22, 2012Very good post. Yes, it is crucial to have confidence in your system, to avoid exiting a trade prematurely or too late. Once the conditions are met, you must have the patience to let the system do its thing.

Alorente replied Aug 17, 2012In the case of UsdCad, the W1 is unpredictable, but the D1, H4 and H1 are all ranging. I am long UsdCad and will hold to the opposite D1 band, exiting in stages.

Alorente replied Aug 17, 2012The swap shorting AudUsd is considerable, but usually not over 10% of profit. I consider it a cost of doing business. Of course, it is much, much lower with other pairs.

Alorente replied Aug 17, 2012Of course, everything is relative to account size. Still, scaling in and out of a position is more consistently profitable than entering all at one time. Letīs say you are trading 4% of your account in a position. Entering and exiting 1% four times ...

Alorente replied Aug 17, 2012Yes. Definitely. I scale into every trade and scale out also. It is impossible to pick the exact top or bottom consistently, but if you scale in and out, you donīt have to.

Alorente replied Aug 17, 2012Yes. The RSI trendline almost always breaks before the price trendline. This is a nice trick that allows you to confirm the turn and jump in near the top or bottom (Long or Short).

Alorente replied Aug 17, 2012This is an important point. As long as you are trading in favor of the D1 TMA, even if the trade initially goes against you, it will eventually travel to the D1 opposite band and allow you to recover. Very good, Tess.

Alorente replied Aug 17, 2012That is why I like to begin my analysis with the W1 and D1 TMAs. They are much more stable than the shorter term TMAs and much better for determining direction.

Alorente replied Aug 17, 2012If it was easy, it would not be as much fun. I like the fact that trading is difficult. Once you become profficient in it, the feeling of accomplishment is much more satisfying than the money you can make.
