It's safe as long as you run only one instance. In any case first try in demo and, if you are confident with it, run it live; but remember: if it works in demo it will work in live mode if you do exactly the same thing

I was fond of taking a look at their api, however, the procedure to get "hold of" it is too cumbersome (e.g. having to ask them, fill out paperwork and what not - other brokers publish their api specs free for download).

Yep. Yea it averaged more around 1 pip; but it was the last few days (pretty much after the problems started) that it went up and I have seen up to 2 pip spread in EU and most of the time it was from 1.3 - 1.6. Right now it is "back" to "normal". ...

I have shut down the platform, erased cached data (~1 GB and 50000 files!), restarted and still the gap, in fact now two, one of ~20 pip and 14 minutes long, the other 2 minutes long and ~10 pip.
