It will only say hello (as you word it) if ECB allows it so with its statements and there's hardly a chance for it in the short term. Euro is not going to 1.16 on pure technicals. It needs fuel and the serious one to get there.

Mate, no idea where you took it from that consensus is to end QE mid 2018??? If they start with 10 bilion a month it's more likely to end in mid 2019. Nobody who has any clue would expect the whole operation to take just 6 months....

Unnamed sourced info from anonymous FF user is hardly 'an announcement to prepare the market'. Besides, as inflation in Eurozone is going down and stays that way till Sep, nothing will happen even if indeed there were plans for such an announcement.

I guess ECB realizes it's too early with low inflation to make any announcements in Sep. It will probably only happen end of the year. So the 'sources' emerge saying it could in Sep -)

How and why would he want higher rates? What he keeps on repeating is a growth of 3 or 4% (which btw is a unobtainable joke). Higher rates are obviously a drag on economy growing... On the other note: didn't he say to Yellen a few weeks ago ...
