The headfake break of the pennant formation on UJ is driving a short squeeze. Equities strengthening today is also helping the run. The rally will probably fail at the overhead resistance zone, 107.50 - 107.90.

AJ +200 since 8am, I wonder how much steam this has left, anyone in on this ride?

Looks like the break came as a headfake. 100pip turnaround so far on UJ. If we get an equity turnaround today, carry trade could enjoy a nice short squeeze.

I highly recommend IB. Their commissions can't be beat in the ECN retail space (except by Dukascopy, but they're not technically retail). Their spreads are fully on par with the institutional ECNs. As mentioned, they don't pay swaps on positions ...

Watching this level as well, very strong support at that fib. 4500 doesn't hold a lot of significance on my charts.

Yeah the range this week has been a bit disappointing (compared to last week's roller coaster). The Dow is down 550 points this week and CJ is off only 130 pips. The culprit is UJ, which is off a whopping 10 pips since last Friday's close.. ...

Like most markets, it typically shoots up in anticipation of the news on rates. Buy the rumor, sell the news.

Anyone short the news after the rate announcement? The former Nov 9th gap resistance held strong, that was the entry signal, unfortunately I slept through it.

There's an RCG discussion thread here. They have a few different feeds with varying spreads, STP supposedly going live this week with better spreads.

I did go through an IB, I guess it was the wrong one. In any event, ADM and/or their IB partners should be more upfront about which feed they're offering. In the spirit of full disclosure, why not let everyone here know which feed this Viking Trader ...

I heard something about that yesterday morning in their press release, was there something unreported? Can't believe we're testing 105 already, 330 pip reversal in 16 hours. I might be able to get in again at 104 today.

Any reason why they were so rushed in their selling? Odd that they chose such a low volume time period to sell. They could've gotten much better action before the NY close, wouldn't have thrown AU ...CAD/JPY

Where did you hear this? I saw the US futures mimicking the move in the carry and thought it might have been leaked downgrades on the bond insurers.

Must be a large carry cash out. Notice most of these large moves happen in the low liquidity post-NY/pre-Tokyo 5pm-8pm deadzone, especially on a Wednesday (I think to trap most of the triple interest buyers). Usually these moves are best faded, I ...
