I agree with Ricardo. It's the lesser of many evils. You really can't determine whether EFX or Oanda is cheaper because you're not comparing apples to apples. If Oanda would be an ECN-type portal like ECN, then a direct comparison would be possible; ...

I suggest you look for other strategies as back ups. The news trading thing is not going to work at Oanda or at another retail shop.

Can anyone tell me the email address from which the e-book is sent after an order is placed? It's been over 24 hours since I ordered it for my wife and it's not even in my junk folder.

I know; bummer! The institution that funds our group is an ECP (Eligible Contract Participant) as per CFTC definition. Without them, we wouldn't be able to participate (at least for now).

Don't believe everything you read or hear. A "guranteed fill" promise from a market maker / dealing desk broker is worthless IMHO. Trading 100 lots with a dealing desk broker is suicidal in my book. Unless your system is longer-term in nature, it ...

Not FXCM's Currenex IMHO (unless of course you're trading a longer term system where getting taken for a few pips at a time by your broker doesn't really matter).

IMHO, Oanda is liquid enough for small and even not-so-small traders. Normally, when someone asks about liquidity is because they are planning to trade a lot of size. I think the question about which broker is the best one for you can be answered ...

I'm not sure exactly what you mean. The Currenex screenshot above shows live prices - not demo. EFX also has similar spreads, but the commissions are atrocious.

They are well-capitalized and I have never had a problem with them; but I would never send them high frequency business because they have a dealing-desk model. So I guess it depends on the type of trading you are doing.

True; you're right. The question is "IF they produce enough volume." I just don't think there's enough volume at any particular broker from sub-100,000 trades to sustain an ECN without bank participation.

Here goes; my 2-cents on EFX. My understanding is that they are a true ECN; but there is an issue that makes me wonder if they are possibly only 99.9% so. As you all know, you can't really trade a 10,000 amount in the real market. At the same time, ...
