Maybe this will clear up what I'm saying. I drew in yellow bars as a potential scenario to look for. Alternatively, it could be a bearish outside bar instead of a pin. Sounds like thermobee says it rarely happens, so maybe this is all irrelevant.

If you're only looking at a chart, it sounds to me like that's as good of an idea as any. There would probably be some other things to look for, but your idea is a good start.
