My "unscientific" opinion is that a slope of .5 or -.5 is not that steep. A slope of +1 would be 45 degrees. I personally term that a "power trend" and would not trade against that. So, I might lean toward bi-directional trading above .5, but the ...

Basically, the darker colors are subject to repainting. The brighter colors will not repaint. This has been covered extensively in the thread. Any appropriate color of a closed bar is valid for trading, even if it repaints.
