The upper and lower Bollinger Bands are 2 standard deviations above and below the middle average. So as has been said, you are correct to use 20 sma to display in the middle of the bands.

You care whether or not you made a profit on the trade, not whether your own currency loses value or not. An appreciating currency doesn't help if you lose most of it through bad trades.

I don't think it should have any major impact on EURUSD or other related Euro pairs but I hope your economy does better than most of the euro zone has since the euro inception. Excluding exceptions like Ireland that is.

Yes as far as I know, Tom DeMark just considers them as discretionary tools and not systems.
