Marketdata on IB Demo is totally useless, its delayed and not showing the whole book by far. IB clients get a papertrading account - thats more like a real demo account with live marketdata.

GMT+2 makes perfect sense, since then the day-break will be at the same time as roll-over downtime (17:00 EST pretty much at every firm including UK) - when positions will get rolled to the next day and get a new cost basis.

JLB said that MBT payed LPs for adding liquidity even before this change. I think this only makes sense if they also pay a fee as aggressor(like on ebs), otherwise this sounds totally uneconomic. My guess is that an LP still comes out way ahead, i ...

EBS has a passive/aggressive commission scheme as well (but only lower commission for price-makers, no rebates). Its going to be interesting how much the impact on displayed liquidity will be. One possible problem tho: i guess there will now be much ...

I guess its some fancy tech thing. I dont think its platform-related tho. Desktop Pro is very new, and the web-client and the mobile-clients are already on their website. Probably not commission-related either. In the end, their job is to fill ...

is Oanda really a good choice for trading?

Different commission for passive/aggressive orders? maybe.. in the end it always comes down to filling customer oders one way or another, i doubt it will be something really revolutionary, there are only so many ways to skin a cat. Justin, giev hint! ...

No spike in the SI future on CME. eSignal XAG spot (composite datafeed from several sources) has a low of 29.60, so they have a smaller spike vs. Oanda's 29.40 low.

3 weeks of ticks is extensive, compared to paid services like eSignal or IQfeed. API-history is pretty solid and reliable, especially for a free service. I think it would be good enough to provide more data for download via web-server as text or csv ...

Yes platform is fine. They should bring in more marketmakers, 3 LPs is not enough. Maybe the initial very tight spreads were some sort of promotion. They had a solid ~1 pip spread on gbp/usd for the first few weeks, which is the lowest i have seen ...
LMAX = revolution?!?

Seems to me that spreads for fx got a bit worse. gbp/usd used to be around 1 pip when they started. eur/usd and usd/jpy are a bit wider too.
LMAX = revolution?!?

Huh? In the last screenshot eur/usd had 80+ million in the book, and it wasnt even scrolled down to see the entire depth. What were you expecting? A billion with 1 pip spread?
