I think before that. My range here is fuzzy, but I'm looking for somewhere between 4405 and 4445. To clarify, I'm talking the next step for the hourly.

There's a shoulder and half a head, so there's nothing. I don't know why everyone is in a rush to go long. Weren't you long a few pages back? Maybe a faster timeframe I suppose.

With all this talk of buying, maybe I'll see 4600 for another short.

As Tjpld said, no it's not 50%. It would be 50% if price moved randomly and we had no operating expenses, but it's not random and we do have operating expenses. In the real world, it could be 40%, it could be 60%, and it may very depending on ...
50% chance of making money?

I didn't say it isn't as easy as it looks. For some it is, for some it is not, and for others it is impossible. If we split trading between trading skill and psychological skill, some will find one easier and the other hard, some find both hard, and ...

Sorry Shiko, I don't agree. Yes, there can be great skill in trading, but trading can also be very simple, and very simple can still be immensely profitable. The tough part in trading is psychological, and not the trading itself.

Depends on their timeframe and strategy. We bounced off 4700 and 4680 numerous times to the next point of resistance, and a good number of those latest longs might've exited at breakeven. Longs might have done quite well over the last week. ...

Granny would not likely trade a fast enough timeframe. I've no doubt donated to some here though. I used to relieve all sorts of their money in online poker. You can bet some were grannies! We all understand the rules and the risks.

Yes, it's called skill. I'm not sure why you're quoting my post, as the context of my post was to reply to another that I believe longterm positive expectancy does exist, because human behaviour is consistent. An example is that human behaviour ...

Awesome stuff. I might try to include some level of astrology into my trading, simply to confuse people who ask me about it.

The underperformance of traders surprise me as well, but I don't think we can assume it is because a consistent positive expectancy can't be obtained.
Do you still believe in the perfect trading system?
- Mr J replied Dec 9, 2009
No it's not. The most rational reply is that there are limits to what can be achieved. Some think markets always change, and they do, but at the same time they always stay the same. Markets are built by human behaviour, and human behaviour is ...

Don't get me wrong, I agree we can't lament over missed opportunities since we miss many. If he thinks it is a good trade, he should take it. If he's not sure - and he doesn't seem to be, otherwise why would he ask - then he shouldn't. If he is ...

Yes it is, because it is a missed opportunity. There will be future opportunities, but that's no excuse not to take advantage of a current one. Forgetting/ignoring it doesn't make it any lesser of a missed opportunity. The issue isn't protection of ...
