Ronald Raygun replied Mar 17, 2010In the three pictures you posted, can you send me the datapoints in those images? I'm going to see if I can find a pattern that way.

Ronald Raygun replied Mar 17, 2010I have 482 in there right now. Haven't hit a limit yet. Curiously enough, the number of EAs is restricted to 500. So maybe the same for custom indis?

Ronald Raygun replied Mar 17, 2010I have to agree with 7-bit here. There could be a multitude of patterns which could be had here. Problem is we only have a very narrow view of the power--if there is any--of the system.

Ronald Raygun replied Mar 17, 2010So predicting price is absolutely out of the question here, that part makes sense. What about direction? The prediction seems to be the farthest from the actual on the 3rd and 4th data points from the right. I don't have the raw data to dig deeper ...

Ronald Raygun replied Mar 17, 2010If that's the case, then all you're left with is a multi-timeframe strategy of some sort. If your prediction method works on multiple timeframes, (including nonstandard ones 10m, 20m, ticks, etc), then using the predicted values, guess where the T3 ...

Ronald Raygun replied Mar 17, 2010I'm probably not understanding this properly, but looking at the graph on the first page, andrea's function is capable of predicting both direction and magnitude. As I see it, if the predictive powers on this indicator is used on a high enough ...

Ronald Raygun replied Mar 17, 2010This is what I've been saying. T3 only takes the price as an input ( I think) so logically, it follows that if you can guess the next T3 value, you can use the previous 13 known price values to calculate the 14th (unknown) value.

Ronald Raygun replied Mar 15, 2010Depends on the density of the data you're using. Rerun your tests and see how much ram is being used. What I think is happening is you are hitting your RAM limit, and the computer is switching to file swapping (using your HD as 'extended ram')

More bars on chart during backtest?

When backtesting, it seems the number of bars on the backtested chart is limited to 1,000. Is ...

Ronald Raygun replied Mar 14, 2010If the close price (which presumably the T3 indi is based off of) that you calculate results in a big error, then perhaps the predictive ability might be suspect.

Ronald Raygun replied Mar 14, 2010If you can predict the next T3 value, then can't you run back through the T3 formula and calculate the close price?
