And on the tech note IBM is the obvious biggie and moves the Dow percentage-wise the most. On yesterdays news it gapped up $8 and so far today it has held. If it can keep the gap opened then tech may drag the overall market with it. If not ...

The key to the Dow/S&P holding are the tech stocks. Right now Banks/Brokers and even the Drugs stocks are tanking. In other words they have past the 5th floor.

Although the writedown numbers and layoffs have gotten bigger and bigger - it's kinda old news. The fed meeting at end of the month (or a possible surprise earlier one) hold the key.

Some believe that is the reason why fibs work too. I believe there is some truth to both working because of being self-fulfilling aspect..........but only some of the time.
