You have to be kidding me.. this has to be some of the worst advice I've ever read on this forum, and sadly that is saying a lot.. Would you manage your investments based upon random anonymous internet tips? Of course not. Why do the same with your ...

Invalid poll due to survivorship bias. The first 5 groups are going to be drastically under-reported, as thousands of ex-traders who once fell into those categories are no longer here to vote.

QuoteTracker is great, I use it 24/7 for MBT FX quotes and indices/equities/futures on IB. Although I don't have a funded account with MBT, the quotes, charts, and level 2 data interface fine. I imagine orders would work just as well too. There's no ...

1:10 is the lowest leverage setting yes. It doesn't actually mean you have to use it. From their site: "Trade any amount you want—as little as $1" So if you have a $500 account, trade no more than $500, etc. With $1 unit size, you can always trade ...

You're not the only one. Loonie's price action today is perplexing, what with it trading down vs the dollar, while the euro, sterling, aussie, kiwi, franc are all better against the dollar by 1% or more. Given the month end is typically the weakest ...

I would also inquire over at the elitetrader forums, lots of prop traders there, prop reviews and ongoing discussions. I don't think you're going to find much here in the way of prop traders as the main benefit in prop, leverage, isn't an issue in ...

If you open a Gain demo and run it alongside TradeStation, you'll notice that TS is adding 0.5 pip to Gain's spreads (0.3 on eurusd, everything else 0.5). How they can do this while still charging a commission is beyond me, but it is fraud in my ...

57% gain from a single trade is a recipe for disaster, you're way over-leveraged. Divergences don't backtest well at all (have you tried backtesting this strategy?). The trade's success had more to do with the good news on Bear and housing today. ...

habeeb, If you do another update, adding R4 as an option on the daily would be great. All of the volatility lately has sent several pairs well beyond their daily R3s (USDCHF would probably be above R5 today if such a level was common). thanks

RoBiK, You're right. I originally had written "for USD/xxx pairs" and I'm not sure why I deleted it.. For GBP pairs it's a loss, for EUR pairs it's a slight loss/wash, for all USD/xxx, kiwi, aussie, and anything else <1.0, it's a gain. I'd take it.

Well, here's my guess. IB's ECN only shows market depth of 5 levels deep (vs MBT where you can see all orders at any level). Since there are typically bank quotes at the first 5 levels, rarely on IB do you see individual client orders. What's ...

No. You don't. You place your trust in the fact that the ECN is not committing fraud and risking litigation. IB is the only ECN I know of that reports the execution bank. To me, this is ancillary information. If anyone's P&L is improved by knowing ...

"Level 2" in this context is used by traders as synonymous with "market depth", "book depth" or "DOM" (depth of market). QuoteTracker for instance makes no distinction, if I load EFX, CME futures, stocks, etc. it's just referred to as "Level 2". ...
