Take care to ensure you're not comparing chalk and cheese or many variables. Evidence can only be assured if one compares 2 data populations on a single variable/parameter/axis. You're comparing post-Covid 19 Covid rates vs PRE-Covid 19 Flu rates. ...
One million people are expected to go missing from Australia and they're not coming back

I'm not sure whether to be shocked, sigh or laugh. If only the pesky Celts didn't have ideas of their own, eh!? Why don't we all just yield to PRC and be done with it?

UK plans to quit Brexit trade talks if no deal seen by Oct. 15
- DaJoWaBa commented Oct 6, 2020
True or not, it's so, so predictable. It's the principle EU negotiation strategy. Put everything into the 13th hour. Europhiles will not class this as 'playing games', of course. How does this sit with the EU President's commitment at the weekend to ...
EU To Ignore Oct 15 Brexit Deadline Betting UK Will Back Down
- DaJoWaBa commented Oct 5, 2020
I haven't said I trade ONLY in a contrarian way, far from it. I work with what is given, which means that a theoretical 100% of the options are open, not just the quoted 80%, although even 80% is fanciful, I suspect (That's not a 'dig' but an ...
Brexit Enters Its Endgame With a Defining Call for Boris Johnson
- DaJoWaBa commented Oct 4, 2020
I accept 'thrive' is a strong word and MIGHT be in error as none of us can see the future. Getting a few things right, never mind 100% is a feat. I'm merely being contrarian, which I believe is a strong trait required in trading: checking out the ...
Brexit Enters Its Endgame With a Defining Call for Boris Johnson
- DaJoWaBa commented Oct 3, 2020
I agree with your IMHO. The EU relies on rigidity and sticking to the rules as part of its raison d'etre (officially, even if a lot of rules get bent further down the line). It works very well for an organisation wanting to bring all its 27 nations ...
Brexit Enters Its Endgame With a Defining Call for Boris Johnson

Quite! As per my earlier comment on the previous Brexit Tweet. Similar point made by Momofrmnyc in Post 7 above.
Brexit: EU official says no sign of landing zone on fisheries, level playing field
- DaJoWaBa commented Oct 1, 2020
I never cease to be amazed and amused by peeps complaining about certain tweets from whomever. It really doesn't matter who has tweeted it or why: it merely releases the pressure of either the market-makers' full or empty warehouse. Volatility ...
Officials In London Are Increasingly Optimistic For A Brexit Deal
- DaJoWaBa commented Sep 30, 2020
Ok, I get that but that's surely the same with regard to any Ex-pat inevitably deemed as an alien living in any other country anywhere else in the world? It's a change for sure but not surely making it worse than elsewhere in the world (which would ...

This is a completely open Q, seeking knowledge: how so?
Brexit – A Huge Change Coming
- DaJoWaBa commented Sep 15, 2020
Except that new circumstances can prevail. So, to make the point in a very dramatic way, mandates and manifestos can't ever hope to cover off every single nuance nor changes in future circumstances. What was the potential risk policy for a pandemic, ...

Yes, indeed, the manifesto/mandate is a pertinent point.
U.K.'s Johnson wins first vote on bill to change Brexit deal
- DaJoWaBa commented Sep 15, 2020
That'll depend on whether the market-makers, as a whole, deem the outcome worse than all the possibilities already priced in right now, before the Brexit negotiations are completed. It still remains the case that both 'sides' want a deal.
U.K.'s Johnson wins first vote on bill to change Brexit deal
- DaJoWaBa commented Sep 15, 2020
True, if you think only about the first time it gets presented. If it is sent back to the Commons and bounced back to the Lords repetitively, then the convention is the Lords have to accede eventually on the basis that the Commons is elected and by ...
U.K.'s Johnson wins first vote on bill to change Brexit deal
- DaJoWaBa commented Sep 10, 2020
Surely not serious. Must be a wind-up. You'd suggest that an organisation hell-bent on its bureaucratic prevalence would just want to subjugate itself to the blowing winds and whims of another federal state organisation? That's an antithesis.
ECB to take aim at strong euro with hints of more stimulus
- DaJoWaBa commented Jul 21, 2020
I can agree on many points you make about bias but is the trait of cognitive bias a one-way street peculiar only to the Anglophone world? If so, then that's ironic. If you believe that it's only the Anglophone world that thinks any EU crisis is A ...

- DaJoWaBa commented Jul 21, 2020
As ever, bash the UK. If the printing press gets turned on it really doesn't matter whether it's once, twice, 75 times, a thousand or a million times, even if Budget/Loans/Grants and any other terminology gets muddied in the PR headline. All the ...

Rishi's Plan for Jobs will help Britain bounce back
- DaJoWaBa commented Jul 8, 2020
None, really. Due to the group-think that the UK is doomed without the EU 'on board', any trade deal elsewhere or indication of a 'line in the sand' MIGHT add a little bit of foundation to GBP. Not add to it, merely provide a base line, of sorts.
