EmeraldEyes replied Aug 7, 2012I love it when markets do stuff like this. These are some of the inefficiencies traders create amongst themselves and can be taken advantage of. If you're quick! haha

EmeraldEyes replied Aug 4, 2012This reminds me of a screenshot I used for shorting recently. When zoomed in, wicks show a battle if seen at predetermined support/resistance levels. In the screenshot G/U had sellers of resistance at 1.5580. The 3rd box is a wick, just took a few ...

EmeraldEyes replied Jul 24, 2012Looks like both those trades bit it. Not sure why long a Euro that's in the midst of collapsing or sell Pounds for Francs during intervention by the SNB. Something to keep in mind. 6) Patterns w/ such fib confluences give trader's a reason to trade. ...

EmeraldEyes replied Jul 23, 2012The location of the candle's close doesn't matter. That's an 'inside' bar if the next candle's range is within the previous candle's high-low. The formation will still be the same if its a long doji or pin, w/e. Inside bars tell you that buyers and ...
Inside Bar Breakout: Having trouble identifying good ones
-
EmeraldEyes replied Jul 23, 2012An inside bar is just that. A range within the previous range. This has a higher chance of breaking out one way or another from price compressing, gathering an accumulation of entry and exit orders on either side. James16 on IB: url Here's what ...

EmeraldEyes replied Jul 22, 2012I agree with Anewr. Keeping up on intraday news, market happenings, order rumors, ect. It is OTC and trading desks talk to each other and spread info of where large options are heading in to the 1400GMT expire. 90% of the time options reported are a ...
Why the delayed increase in volume?
-
EmeraldEyes replied Jul 21, 2012btw — To see how options affect the spot market, plot the price of Eur/Usd everyday last week @ 10EST(1400GMT). Shows how traders are hedging for option at 1.2250 leading up to the expiry.
Why the delayed increase in volume?
-
EmeraldEyes replied Jul 20, 2012Its the standard time options expire daily. Options can expire at different times though, its an OTC market afterall. As of market volume and movement, it depends on the size or amount of traders hedging the option prior to expiry. There was a large ...

Why the delayed increase in volume?

EmeraldEyes replied Jul 18, 2012Market orders demand liquidity, limit orders supply it. Someone could, but no one had to take the other side of the trade when he entered. A buy stop long entry at 1.25 would mean he buys when the dealer's bid is @ 1.24975 (2.5pip spread). The ...

You Can Predict The Market 100% Of Time

EmeraldEyes replied Jul 16, 2012You still need a tiny edge to beat the spread and/or slippage. Though I believe R:R is a post-trade ratio on how well you're able to limit risk and maximize reward. A trade's potential shouldn't be limited before its made but reviewed afterwards.

EmeraldEyes replied Jul 13, 2012IMHO 1% is the max amount to use to scalp on per DAY. Not per trade. Anything over 5%/month consistently would be awesome. Higher risk does not mean higher rewards. That's my observation after a few years at this. Demos4x, do you know what ratio of ...

EmeraldEyes replied Jul 9, 2012Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think the option tripping will effect the spot price, just the writer will win or lose. I think what will effect the market is the orders that are implimented from the defense or attacking of the option - ...

EmeraldEyes replied Jul 9, 2012Good scenario. I'll explain with pics of what something like this could look like. A large trader purchases one yard ($1 Billion) NT (No-touch) option on Aud/Usd at 1.0300. He has so much ammo (sell orders) to defend this area if price shoots up to ...
