I enjoyed the long post. Every trade I do is risking 1%, and depending upon my setup i usually expect between 1.5 - 3% return. so 2% is usually reached in one trade. But the key is consistency, which is starting to develop nicely for me.

better to be safe than sorry. if you are utilizing proper money management then a losing trade will put you back 1%. no biggie. What if this one time g/j decides to go against you, and never turn back? as a noob (no offence) you will likely hold ...

Who knows in these markets eh? I trade mostly technically and don't pay an awful lot of attention to fundies unless it's one of the "big impact" ones.

g/j just closed on 23.6 fib (232.82) and is making a move back up, on the hourly, but we shall see if it goes back down and tests it again.

g/j is a very volatile pair and makes much larger moves that any other pairs. I think it could still go down another 150 pips from where it is right now 233, and that would be a decent retrace.

good topic, just to add a little bit it looks like gbp/jpy is very bearish in august of most years, and some like this year have seen huge bearish runs. I'm sure theres lots more out there, just have to look for it.
