Yea it makes no sense especially given how weak the US$ is overall + good CAD data, this is another first I've seen in my almost 6 years of trading

last time I saw a huge instantaneous movement like this was when SNB said they would unpeg from euro. Almost 300 pip instant move is crazy and rare

Great ending to this year. I was able to load up a trade explorer thats up 400+ pips in less than a month and just an overall profitable year. Going on year 5 with trading forex and the system is definitely in a peak position going forward in 2017. ...

I believe it was algo driven along with eur/usd 150+ flash crash (usd). The GBP crash was because of a scared trader from what I heard.

This pair was pretty volatile in 2016. No reads for next year, a lot to wait and see regarding the global economy to make a move here.

GBP took a huge hit in 2016, in 2017 look out for this pair around late spring (March) for further Brexit details that will definitely cause a lot of volatility.

It will be interesting to see this pair in 2017, as it is looking to test parity but it may or may not do that so we will see!

Aussie dollar held up all year a bit surprising, I think most analysts had aud/usd around $0.50
