AlienFrog replied Feb 13, 2012Hi, Bin. I have the Calling feature appearing/disappearing ok again. I switched back to the originally downloaded version of Alerts and it worked ok. I had saved changes a few times before I fixed DDE so maybe I saved some bad changes. So the only ...

AlienFrog replied Feb 9, 2012Hey, Bin. I really like this little tool! I'm watching a bunch of pairs now so it's really useful. But I can't get it to beep. My speakers work ok and not muted. Any hints?

AlienFrog replied Jan 31, 2012It's actually someone else's rule I stole a long time ago from this forum. I'm pretty sure it's linked in the TOC doc. At least I'm smart enough to know what to steal!

AlienFrog replied Jan 30, 2012JB, great question! It makes me think about defining my own strategy for myself. M15 - gives the signal. H1 - NEVER trade against H1. Daily trend - great if it matches, but not essential as long as there are a couple of candles turning the right ...

AlienFrog replied Jan 26, 2012I fixed it! I found a Microsoft Technet article saying the Internet Explorer, or some other program, can send a DDE registration broadcast and break DDE for another program, i.e., MT4. Windows Update patch fixed it. Now I can try it out! Hope you're ...

AlienFrog replied Jan 23, 2012Thank you for asking. The main reason this piqued my interest is that I am developing a framework for trading using SSBO, and win/loss ratio is a great statistic to use as a milestone for measuring success. My first reaction is that 60% seems low ...

AlienFrog replied Jan 23, 2012You mentioned a win rate of 60% and that caught my eye. I know this is only an example, but do you think that's a good target win rate to start out? To be profitable in the long run? Can it be improved? I know this is a very subjective question with ...

AlienFrog replied Jan 23, 2012Oops! Silver, not Gold!
I've been staring at charts and spreadsheets too much lately. Tunnel vision kicking in... It's obvious that you are a fan of GU. I'll have to concentrate some more time on this pair.Extracted Thread (per thread starter's request)

AlienFrog replied Jan 22, 2012You're welcome, guys. Darkforce, that's another great way to see at a glance each TF's MAs. For me it works better with one color per TF. Yes, it works live, too. Actually the bigger challenge is usually whether it will work in the tester. Some ...

AlienFrog replied Jan 22, 2012Oanda has offered MT4 for less than a year. Their original live platform is called fxTrade. The demo version of this is used to be fxGame, now called fxTrade Practice Account. These are Java applications that launch from your web browser after you ...

AlienFrog replied Jan 22, 2012Ok, I'll give it a shot. Obviously both instruments are moving together. There are 3 breakouts for Gold. For the second two BOs, it looks like GU broke first. But for the first BO, GU did not break out of the CZ, and the Gold BO was false. So you ...

AlienFrog replied Jan 19, 2012You are right to point out the news warning, especially Thursday mornings (EST). i always watch the trades I am in at news time because the spread can spike and take out your SL. I've been in positive pips when this has happened and it's worse than ...

AlienFrog replied Jan 19, 2012This area has been tested 5-6 times over the last 6 weeks, within about 30 pips. It may be weakening. I'm going to go with the odds of the setup at this point. This is why we wait for 3 bars to close, right?

AlienFrog replied Jan 19, 2012Fixed TPs are easier to use in Excel, too. Fibs are different on each trade. The only way to use them would be to refer to a sheet with price data. Lots of difficult formulas. I'm not that good at Excel.
