Well, on the bright side, $30/mio USD certainly beats MBT's rate of $50/mio USD. Only IB beats that rate at $20/mio USD, and HotSpot FXr on GBP and EUR pairs with their rate of $30/mio notional.

Which broker has the best conditions for trading gbp/jpy ?
- Trader KGB replied May 13, 2008
You should add HotSpot FXr to the comparison list, as they have the lowest commissions on GBP pairs of any ECN ($3 per lot, vs $3.90 at IB and $9.70 at MBT). Spreads range 0.5 - 4 pips, typically in line with IB and MBT, possibly a pip tighter on ...

No. GAIN vs EFX is apples & oranges, because GAIN is not an ECN. GAIN is basically a hybrid dealing desk, near-ECN spreads + a commission. If you compare GAIN to actual ECNs (IB, HotSpot, MBT/EFX), you'll notice the spreads are better on the ECNs. ...

I suspected that. However, if you go to login, select "FXCM Real", and just put in fake info, you don't get an "invalid account" message, it stays as "no connection". Run a netstat -n in cmd prompt, there's no connection ever made, it's offline.

And do you have any facts to support this claim? There is no difference. Either a broker is an ECN or a dealing desk. There is no in-between, "STP", "no dealing desk" etc are just marketing shams. If the commission is built into the spread, it's a ...

Justin, Do you know why the Sunday open is sometimes delayed? The initial bank quotes started at 5:10pm, and client orders weren't activated until about 5:45pm. Shouldn't the open, being a weekly occurrence, be relatively automated to begin at 5pm?

The latter. Relatively yes. The same trader could execute on an ECN at half the "cost" (1 pip spread vs 3 pip spread, plus $18-50 commission). I don't think anyone trading in 10M clips is crazy enough to use a dealing desk.. They're hopefully on ...

Justin, I noticed that if I pull up USD/ZAR market depth, I get live quotes from what appears to be a singular liquidity provider. Any chances MBT might be adding this pair in the future? (and/or USD/BRL?) thanks
