pt49 replied Dec 14, 2012Everyone has been worried about Greece defaulting but what about the USA defaulting? Probably won't happen, however, I think America's debts are a bigger problem than Europes.

pt49 replied Dec 14, 2012Don't fight the trend... the euro looks headed for 1.50 I'd say, and the aussie for 1.10 (or higher) very likely.

pt49 commented Dec 13, 2012What industry was a major driver of the US economy post WWII?... Auto manufacturing (Detroit). China already produces more vehicles than America and Japan combined.

pt49 commented Dec 13, 2012There's little doubt that an emerging economy with a population 4 to 5 times the size of America's, will have a high consuming middle clas in the next few years. Local consumtion will very likely outgrow export consumption in China in the next few ...

pt49 replied Dec 13, 2012I've not had any issues with Axi since moving to their US based server. Spreads are better than the standard account... 0.2 to 0.5 pips usually, plus 0.7 commissions. Screen shot showing 0.2 in Asian session 10 min's ago.
Axitrader feedback, anyone?

pt49 replied Dec 13, 2012Been reading the last few pages of this thread and seen you guys comparing Pepperstones spreads to others, so I added some input. AxiTrader is also an Aussie broker. I'm not trying to sell you on them, just adding some input.

pt49 commented Dec 13, 2012I would expect the euro to continue up past 1.3100 and the aussie onwards to 1.0600 after this short toilet break.

pt49 commented Dec 13, 2012If this was major news the euro woulda dropped 200 pips, the aussie woulda dropped 300 pips... neither has happened. The market has said... "they kicked the can further into the weeds", so it's business as usual.

pt49 replied Dec 13, 2012And that's it in a nutshell... the US $ is being debased massively with QE'zzing and the AU$ can't be debased as fast. The only way to debase the Aussie is by lowering interest dramatically, and that's counterproductive to what Australia needs... ...

pt49 replied Dec 12, 2012The only way Australia can affect the exchange rate is by entering the market agressively (like Switzerland and Japan) or change interest rates. If they lower interest rates agressively, they will deter foreign investment in the country, and ...

pt49 replied Dec 12, 2012Pips are irrelevant... you lost 12.9% of your balance according to the spreadsheet, that's what matters. Stop counting pips, start counting %. A trader can have a negative pip balance in a given period, but can have a positive gain in account ...

pt49 replied Dec 10, 2012Take the current move up from 1.0475 to 1.0502... one would normally expect a bounce off the 1.0500, but all it did is come back to 1.0497, and it's been hangin in there for 50 min's now since hitting 1.0500. That don't look like a pair that's goin ...

pt49 replied Dec 6, 2012Yup... I was up 2% on Monday on the old server, then 2.6% more on the new server early yesterday (restarted account at $2,008), but then lost a bit over 3% yesterday, so I'm about BE this week at this point, maybe up less than 1% (on combined ...
